Quality at AEQES

For the purpose of ensuring a consistent approach in applying the methodology and in treating all institutions with equity, the Agency has developed its own internal quality assurance (IQA) system based on procedures, routine functions, dialogue with all the stakeholders and feedback. Its quality assurance process is applied in accordance with the "Plan - do - check - act" (PDCA) principle.

To get a better insight into AEQES' IQA system, please find hereunder its "Quality Handbook" which has the twofold purpose of:

  • supporting the process of continual improvement in its work ("quality enhancement")
  • guaranteeing equal treatment to each HEI in the French Community of Belgium via transparent procedures ("accountability").

It targets AEQES' Executive Unit staff, experts and stakeholders.

Moreover, AEQES has been reviewed by ENQA in 2011. The review evaluated the way in which and to what extent AEQES fulfils the criteria for the ENQA membership and thus the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area. On September 9th, AEQES was granted full membership. The key documents of the review are available below.
